Darrell Clarke: Rebooted Walsall Keen to Put Things Right

Walsall manager Darrell Clarke has spoken ahead of Saturday's League Two clash with Crewe Alexandra and says his side have ‘rebooted’ ahead of the clash with the title-chasing Railwaymen.
The Saddlers, who sit in mid-table with sixteen games still to play, will be looking to return to winning ways following a duo of recent defeats to relegation-threatened opposition in the form of Carlisle United and Morecambe.

Clarke, who has opted to tinker with his team selection over recent weeks, is keen to right the wrongs when his team take on Crewe at the Banks's and says steps have been taken to try and bounce back.

Speaking via the club's official website, Darrell said; "The first thing is picking your squad of players up because I have a squad that cares and are hard working. You get in the process of doing that by rebooting at the training ground and picking a team ready to go out there fighting.

"When you start at 3pm the score is 0-0 and I'm sure the fans will get right behind us if we can start the game on the front foot. It's good we've got a game whether it's home or away, you get the opportunity to put it right."

Clarke went on to insist that he is keen to play on the front foot on Saturday as he looks to stifle his promotion chasing opponents, with the Mansfield-born gaffer keen to see his team take the game to their opponents.

Darrell continued; "Crewe are up there fighting for automatic promotion, they've been consistent. I don't think there's a lot of difference between the top and bottom of the table.

"Crewe are a possession-based football team and they can open you up if you don't get in their faces and press, they'll pick you off. Also, they can be got at, like most teams in this division.

"We've shown over a period of time that we're more of a match for any team this season but some of the results we've shot ourselves in the foot."
