Clarke, who recently added Reading winger Jack Nolan and Fleetwood Town midfielder Nathan Sheron to his squad, believes the board are planning for long-term success and he is convinced the club is rebuilding the right way.
Last week, club chairman Leigh Pomlett insisted that despite the club going through spells of dismal form he has never considered sacking Clarke as he is keen to build for the future with Darrell at the helm.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Darrell said; "I have a fantastic relationship with the people that are here. The structure in place that I came to join was one of being sensible with how we do things and build things.
"I really bought into that and the chairman I get on great with. We just want to keep working hard as a group of people. I think you can see the spirit in the team and at the training ground.
"The environment that we've got here is set, now we just want to get more consistent results. It's nice to have the support of the hierarchy."
