Leigh Pomlett Thankful For Fans' Support

Walsall Chairman Leigh Pomlett has spoken ahead of this weekend's League Two clash between the Saddlers and Macclesfield Town and once again thanked the fans for their continued support.
Pomlett, who is working with first-team manager Darrell Clarke ahead of the upcoming January Transfer Window, went on to praise the team for their recent upturn in form before confirming plans for a Fans Focus meeting in January.

His statement, which can be found in this weekend's match programme, states; "First of all I want to thank you for the support through November. We had a number of games at home which I know is expensive particularly leading up to Christmas but still you came.

"We have now only lost one in eight games which is a good run by any ones standards and makes life so much easier I can assure you. I am hoping this will continue into Christmas which is often a pivotal time of the year.

"I hope our good form continues throughout the festive period and let’s see where are in January. Still being in the Leasing.com Trophy heading into 2020 is pleasing and helps the club financially, though I know fans have yet to warm to this competition.

"The Portsmouth game will be very important to us. There will be a Fans Forum in January but we will decide on the exact date in the New Year. I said at the outset that I would communicate with the fans more and this is part of the process and I for one will be looking forward to it.

"There are plenty of activities taking place today from the Supporters Trust Toy Appeal, to the Independent Saddlers Supporters Association giving out parcels to our young and senior supporters and, of course, Acorns Collection.

"If you can, please give generously and thank you to the various supporters groups for their hard work and effort. Finally, I want to, one behalf of myself and the rest of the Board wish you a very Happy Christmas and I hope we can play our part by continuing the good run into the New Year."
