Losing just one of their last nine games in all competitions the Saddlers are four unbeaten in the league and arrive at this weekend's clash with the Grecians on the back of a comeback draw with Macclesfield Town.
Gordon, who has netted five goals from twenty-five appearances so far this season, believes the team are progressing as a result of their never say die attitude and felt the result against the Silkmen may have been different had a few short months ago.
Speaking via the club's official website, Josh said; "We said after the Macclesfield game, in October we would probably lose that game. We've started to create a bit more resilience. To be able to come back into games now - we've shown that we've started to progress."
Gordon, who is among a group of attack-minded players currently plying their trade in WS1, feels the team are creating more opportunities and has been pleased to see his fellow forwards find the back of the net in recent games.
Josh added; "Towards the start of the season the strikers were looking at where the chances were going to come from. But as you've seen in the games of late, we've had more chances.
"People are getting on the goalsheet a bit more. As long as we can continue getting those chances then I think the goals will start coming."
