Pomlett, who continues to work with first-team manager Darrell Clarke ahead of the upcoming January Transfer Window, went on to offer praise for club secretary and director Dan Mole before once again thanking the fans for their continued support.
In comments which can also be found in Saturday's matchday programme, the chairman said; It is a pleasure and relief to be writing this after winning in the FA Cup with a hard fought win over Darlington.
I want to thank those fans that made there way to a very cold Darlington on Wednesday night. I met a few of them in a bar before the game and thanked them personally but for those I didn’t meet my thanks on behalf of the whole club.
It seems now the plans for the club are coming together and a good run of results which I really hope continues against Stevenage this afternoon. The league remains our priority and hence this match is so important.
It is though so good to be through to the last 32 of the Leasing.com Trophy and the 2nd round of the FA Cup against Oxford United as this has really lifted the mood of the whole club.
Saturday will be a day for the community programme and I want to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in this programme. They do great work under the Chairmanship of Dan Mole.
There will be an extra 874 supporters will be in the Stadium as part of the Community Programme’s School Partners Initiative. The overall running total that we have now sold is 24,434 tickets since WFCCP began the project in 2008, raising £12,217 cash back for schools in the process.
A big thank you must go to WFCCP Education Manager, Paul Larvin, for organising the tickets and to all the WFCCP staff that give up extra time in their busy delivery schedules to distribute tickets to 44 schools - almost 50% of primaries in Walsall.
We will also be using today’s game to begin the marking the 30th Year of Walsall FC Community Programme. Players will be warming up in ‘30 years t-shirts’ and a bucket collection encouraging fans to "Bring a Pound to the Ground" to raise funds to invest in local young people and football activities is also taking pace. If you can, please give generously.
Finally, I must sign off my notes by thanking you all. The support in recent weeks has been great. Please keep it up today and lets continue this run of form.
