First-team manager Darrell Clarke has opted to loan young striker Mitchel Candlin out as the highly thought of prospect gets a shot at some much-needed first-team football.
Stafford-born Candlin has joined BetVictor Southern League Central Division side Nuneaton Borough on short-term loan deal, and has already made an impact for the Liberty Way side.
Mitch, who has missed out over the last few weeks of action, was named in the Nuneaton's Southern League Cup side to take on Rushall Olympic at Liberty Way on Tuesday evening.
Lining up alongside former Saddler Isaiah Osbourne, Mitch continued his fine spell of form as he slotted home from the penalty spot late in the second-half as his temporary team defeated the Pics by three-goals-to-two.
Candlin (P 43') was joined on the scoresheet by Ryan Edmunds (28'), and James Clifton (74') as his side bounced back from going two-goals down to go on and take their place in the next round.
