The 24-year-old defender, who returned from suspension during Tuesday’s two-nil defeat to Oldham Athletic, feels the team need to stick together and help push each other harder to get back to winning ways.
The Saddlers arrive at this weekend's clash on the back of four consecutive defeats with Salford City, Leyton Orient, Cheltenham Town, and Oldham all taking the three points from their meetings with the Reds.
Speaking via the club's official website, Dan said; "I think we need to raise our standards. We need to push each other a little bit more, stick together and get ourselves out of it.
"You’ve got to be mentality strong and work hard for each other. I think we can work a little bit harder and go that extra mile for each other so if we start doing that I think we’ll get ourselves out of it.
"We have a home game coming up so we need to take the game to them and use this as a turning point. It needs to be a turning point so we’ll grind it out in training and look forward to Saturday."
Mansfield has a handful of former Walsall players among their ranks including last season's top-scorer Andy Cook, who scored eighteen goals in a Saddlers shirt last season, and Scarr insists he is prepared to deal with the former Tranmere Rovers mans' threat.
Dan continued; "We know what his attributes are. He’s big, strong and he scores goals so he’s definitely someone to keep an eye on. Players come and go, some players want to leave and you don’t have control over that so you just get on with it."
