21-year-old Cockerill-Mollett revealed that he has fond memories of playing in the EFL Trophy having made his Saddlers debut in the competition in a 5-2 triumph over Grimsby Town three years ago.
The Leicester-born prospect, who is among a whole host of players to progress through the club's Academy system, has gone on to make a further six appearances for the first team but his debut will always hold a special place in his heart.
Speaking via the club's official website, Callum said; "It was a proud moment. It’s an appearance by your name at a young age so I was happy to be able to come through the academy and make my debut."
The highly-rated defender has featured three times so far Darrell Clarke's side this season, including starts against Plymouth Argyle and Crawley Town in the Carabao Cup.
Callum admitted that he hopes he will get another opportunity to get some minutes against the Saints Under-23s this evening, as he bids to repay the faith manager Clarke has shown in him.
Callum continued; "It gives me good confidence going into games knowing he trusts you to start in the league and give you opportunities to stake your claim.
"He likes to switch it round a lot so you’ve always got to be ready. I’m hoping to be involved tonight and hopefully take an opportunity to try and force my way into the starting XI for a league game."
