Stuart Sinclair Keen to Build Upon Midweek Winner

Walsall midfielder Stuart Sinclair has spoken to the local press and admitted that he is enjoying the opportunity to support the Saddlers' strikers after registering his first goal for the club in midweek.
31-year-old Sinclair bagged the Saddlers' winning goal against Morecambe last Tuesday evening and followed it up with another energetic performance during Saturday afternoon's narrow victory over Scunthorpe United.

The Houghton Conquest-born veteran admitted that getting forward is what he enjoys the most and is hoping to get the licence to attack in upcoming games and build upon his first goal in a Saddlers shirt.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Stuart said; "Sometimes the gaffer wants me square for different reasons – that’s my job and I have to do that. We’re all here as a team to do the jobs the team needs.

"But I do enjoy being front foot, pushing forward and making forward runs and winning second balls higher up the pitch – that’s what I thrive on, that’s what I really enjoy.

"The gaffer does like to change it and get players in who he thinks can effect the game. Each game is a different project but it’s just nice to play and work hard for the team and pick up points, that’s what I’m here to do.

"We’re building a good squad, we have lots of good young players, getting them in and out and time on the pitch so they can produce is important as well, so it’s finding that balance.

"It’s part of being a footballer, you go through spells where certain things don’t click and certain things happen and then you go through spells of elation.

"You have to learn to be balanced - also you feed off that disappointment, that’s what makes you the team that you are and gives you that winning mentality."
