First-team manager Darrell Clarke has opted to loan young striker Mitchel Candlin out as the highly thought of prospect gets a shot at some much-needed first-team football.
19-year-old Candlin recently joined BetVictor Southern League Central Division side Nuneaton Borough on an initial 28-day loan, making his debut during a two-nil defeat to Biggleswade Town last weekend.
Tuesday's outing was a much more successful affair for both the Boro and Mitch as the Stafford-born striker was named among the starting XI for their home clash with Stourbridge.
Mitch, who was a second-half substitute at the weekend, played a major part in the match as he not only bagged his first goals for the Liberty Way side but was also named Man of the Match, capping off a great evening in Warwickshire.
The first of Nuneaton's four unanswered goals was scored by James Clifton (4') with Luke Benbow (16', 54') netting a brace before Candlin struck shortly before the hour mark, helping his temporary team to secure a welcome win.
