First-team manager Darrell Clarke has opted to loan young striker Mitchel Candlin out as the highly thought of prospect gets a shot at some much-needed first-team football.
Stafford-born Candlin has joined BetVictor Southern League Central Division side Nuneaton Borough on an initial 28-day loan deal, and has already made an impact for the Liberty Way side.
Following on from his midweek Man of the Match winning display against Stourbridge, Mitch retained his place in the starting XI as Boro played host to Alvechurch on Saturday afternoon.
Mitch continued his fine spell of form and was again able to get on the scoresheet once again as he (44') Luke Benbow (11') and Ryan Edmunds (83') all hit the back of the net enabling Nuneaton scrape a 3-2 victory in front of 429 fans at Liberty Way.
The result sees Boro move up to 9th in the table heading into next weekend's league clash with Barwell.
