Walsall and the Exiles played out a goalless draw in front of 4,337 fans at Banks's Stadium on Tuesday evening and Clarke was keen to thank the fans as they continue to get behind the recently rebuilt side.
Clarke's team have won one, drawn two, and lost one of their opening four league games and have shown fleeting glimpses of their potential as the almost completely rebuilt team continues to gel and learn their new manager's tactical approach.
Speaking to the assembled media, Darrell said; "I’m really pleased with the way supporters have got behind us. I think they know their club is in a massive transition and we hope there are going to be a lot better nights than this ahead.
"It is up to us to entertain. I have always said that. But the fans are sticking right behind the lads. They are not daft, they can see what we are trying to do. You have to get the balance right between defending and attacking.
"I certainly don’t think we look a defensive team but you have to get the balance of linking the play better."
