The London-born midfielder has missed most of the Saddlers' pre-season campaign as he and striker Morgan Ferrier recently expressed a desire to leave the club following last season's relegation to the fourth tier of English football.
George was contracted to the Saddlers until the end of June 2021 and is expected to have commanded fee with Saddlers manager Darrell Clarke now needing to re-enter the transfer market to add another midfielder to his squad ahead of Transfer Deadline Day.
Dobson, who enjoyed youth spells with Arsenal and West Ham United before linking up with the Saddlers, initially on loan, had also been linked with Hull City as he is a player who is both available for the first-team but also has plenty of scope for improvement, and his departure will come as a major blow for the Saddlers as they prepare for the season-opening clash with Northampton Town.
