Audio: Martin O'Connor Refuses to Defend His Players as Walsall Slump to Another Defeat

Listen as Walsall interim manager Martin O'Connor speaks to BBC WM Sport and reacts to the Saddlers' awayday defeat to Accrington Stanley.
O'Connor, who is in the Walsall dugout following last weekend's sacking of former boss Dean Keates, and admitted that he was embarrassed by his team's performance as they failed to heed any of his pre-match words as they fell to a sixth straight defeat.

The 51-year-old, who is not known to mince his words, agreed that his team simply didn't perform and have no-one to blame but themselves, and revealed that he gave them a bit of a dressing-down after full-time.

Skip, who has been tasked with the job of returning the Saddlers to safety following a season of struggle, admitted that he'd lost a few players pre-match but was still frustrated by a simple lack of desire among his players.
