The versatile youngster has been on the sidelines since suffering a nasty double leg break during the Saddlers' pre-season clash with Championship side Stoke City back in July, with the Birmingham-born centre-back working hard alongside the club's medical department in a bid to return to action before the season ends.
Speaking via the club's official website, Dean revealed that Kory is 'doing well' and has been able to return to light jogging after getting the all clear from Head Physio Marc Czuczman to return to light training.
The gaffer also admitted that whilst Kory is aware that he is not in the manager's plans for the remainder of the season the prospect could return to fitness in time for a brief cameo towards the end of the campaign.
The manager said; "He’s doing well. He’s out jogging. He got a little applause the other day, he came jogging past the group when we were training. It’s nice to see him out there.
"He could potentially be ready for the last couple of games of the season. It’s something I’ve already said in my discussion with Kory, and with the physio, that he’s not in my plans until next season.
"He might as well use that extra time and make sure he’s fully ready to go from day one in pre-season. His recovery has gone really well. He’s progressing really well and it was good for the lads, himself mentally and the group, to see him jogging round the outside of the pitch."
