The defeat to Coventry saw the Saddlers fail to score for the third game in a row and continue their overall slump in form as they remain just two points above the relegation zone having lost all five of their most recent league outings, putting them firmly at the foot of the form table.
25-year-old Devlin, who has made thirty-six appearances do far this season, insisted that the dressing room is firmly behind the manager, admitting that he feels the gaffer is being unfairly singled out for criticism as the Saddlers continue to struggle.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Nicky said; "Everyone in the dressing room is right behind the gaffer. We want to do well and part of that is you want the gaffer to do well. He is a very likeable guy and you want to do well for him as well as yourselves.
"But unfortunately, as manager, he seems to take the brunt of the blame. But as players it’s us who have not been good enough. It’s not the manager."
Looking back at the defeat to the Sky Blues, going on to praise Liam Roberts, he continued; "Every player on the park wasn’t good enough bar Robbo, who was the only one to probably get pass marks. If you look through the two teams, they were better than us in all positions and that is not acceptable."
