The Saddlers have seen their season go from one of promise to one of dread as a dismal run of form, including eight defeats in their last nine league outings, has pushed them to within two points of the relegation zone with just thirteen games remaining.
But 28-year-old, Gloucester-born Edwards believes that rather than downplaying the pressure the Saddlers should use it as a motivational tool, with the must-win match presenting each one of them with the opportunity to be a hero and help their club to edge away from the drop-zone.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Joe said; "We spoke about the importance of the game in depth after the loss at Coventry last weekend. Sometimes you try and downplay the pressure on games but we felt this week that we really wanted to build it up.
"We want it to have that sort of FA Cup final feel. We know it is a massive game for us against Bradford. We have trained hard all week. And now we have to have 11 players who go out on Saturday and do their bit. Each of us can be the hero if we want to be."
Edwards, who has made eleven first-team appearances since returning from a lengthy injury lay-off, was also keen to point out that the match is a big one for the Bantams, with David Hopkins' side already sitting i the relegation zone.
The Saddlers' captain added; "It is a big game for them as well and that is something we have to look at. We are ahead of them in the table and that’s got to give us some self-belief going into it.
"They would rather have more points on the board and not be in the position they are in so they are going to be the same as us. They are going to want to put their mark on the game. They are a good side with some good players if you let them play their own game. But we have to make sure we put our stamp on it."
