Walsall FC will be hosting their first health and well-being-themed matchday experience of the season, when the Saddlers face Bradford City at Banks's Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Teaming up with leading mental health charity, the Kaleidoscope Plus Group, and main club sponsors HomeServe, the Black Country-based trio have been working together on a fun-packed schedule for fans to enjoy. Matchday activities will also help raise vital funds so the charity can continue to support more than 9,000 people a year.

Established in 1973, the Kaleidoscope Plus Group offers a network of provision including counselling, suicide prevention and postvention services, independent living support, mental health training, residential care, and well-being activities for children, young people and adults.

A selection of activities and entertainment are planned on the day including a half-time mascot race and the Kaleidoscope Plus Group Corporate Fundraising and Campaign Manager, Greg Shelton, can’t wait for the game, he said; "It will be a really proud day for the charity to have such a huge presence at the game.

"We’ve built up a strong bond with the Walsall FC and HomeServe and this is a fantastic gesture from them both to allow us into their stadium to promote positive health and well-being, while fundraising in the process.

"It will also be a very big day for our mascot, Kally the Kaleidosaurus, who will be joining Swifty and Homer on the pitch for some half-time entertainment and hopefully her appearance will help make the stigma of mental ill health extinct!"

The club are hoping for a bumper crowd after launching a ticket offer allowing fans to sit in the HomeServe Stand for just £5 per person. Marketing Manager Daniel Clarke is excited to be supporting The Kaleidoscope Plus Group.

He commented; "We are really looking forward to Saturday’s game and the activities surrounding the fixture. Every season, we look to put on as many fan offers as possible and we are confident this will be a great initiative.

"We are delighted to have Kaleidoscope and HomeServe here for the game and we have a very good working relationship with both companies. As a club, we are proud to support such a worthy cause and raise awareness for people’s health and well-being."

HomeServe who are the official match sponsors on the day and are delighted to be playing their part in promoting positive health and well-being.

Alex Covey, Director of Engagement at HomeServe, said; "It is estimated that 1 in 4 people in the UK alone will experience a mental health problem each year. It’s an issue that is important to us and our employees and as the official match sponsor we are delighted to be supporting the first health and well-being themed match."
