Keates, who had seen his side secure their first victory in six league outings, believes that Gordon - who bagged a brace to help his side edge ever so slightly away from the relegation zone - displayed both endeavour and strength of character as he stood up to the challenge after teammate Andy Cook was sent off.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Dean said; “There has never been any doubt in my mind about Josh. You can always see the work-rate is there and the endeavour is there. Those two goals will do him the world of good.
"Yes, we’ve signed him from Leicester. But he had only been there for 14 months. Technically he is still a very raw player who has spent the majority of his career in non-league.
"He will be a good player, he will be a great addition for the squad given time. He is settling into this football club. But he showed against Bradford what he is about and I think maybe the sending off gave him a little more weight on his shoulders.
"He stood up to it, he had to lead the line on his own and he gave everything for the football club."
