One of the major stories to emerge from the event is the club's desire to extend the contract of current top-scorer Andy Cook, despite the former Tranmere Rovers forward having around eighteen month remaining on his deal.
28-year-old Cook, who has bagged fifteen goals in thirty-five games so far this season, is said to be high on the clubs list of priorities as they look to secure the futures of their best and brightest ahead of the summer months.
Gamble confirmed that club officials hope to keep hold of Cook for as long as possible and will sit down with the player and his representatives to have talks about extending his contract soon, he said; "We will hold on to Andy Cook for as long as we can. He has got 18-months on his contract. And we will be holding contract talks with him very shortly."
