Morgan Ferrier: Hard Working Saddlers Motivated By Underdog Status

Walsall striker Morgan Ferrier, who has enjoyed a strong start to his club career since arriving from Boreham Wood over the summer, believes that the Saddlers are thriving in part thanks to their underdog status, and players and pundits should write them off at their peril.
23-year-old Ferrier, who has bagged four goals in ten first-team appearances, is among a growing group of players who have started the season in superb form and believes that the squad is confident in it abilities and goes into games keen to prove the doubters, especially those who had the Saddlers as favourites for the drop, wrong.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Morgan said; "We are looked upon as underdogs, we like that and we are going to run with it. I feel every day we need to have that mentality – we know people are going to write us off.

"We just need to know what we can do, as a team and as a club. It’s a long old season. We are only nine games in and it’s down to us to apply ourselves as best we can.

"We come in every day and we know we haven’t got the budget of other teams. But we work so hard for each other and I think that puts us on an even playing field. We can get victories from being together as a team and as a club."
