Keates' side had enjoyed a flying start to the 2018/19 campaign, winning five and drawing one of their opening six matches in all competitions, but were unable to keep that run going as last season's National League champions secured a penalty shoot-out victory to reach the Third Round of the League Cup.
Keates admitted that he was disappointed to see his team crash out of the cup, but insisted the result won’t affect his players heading into this afternoon's clash with the mid-table Seasiders.
The manager, who was speaking via the Express & Star, said; "There will be no hangover from Macclesfield – we’ll make sure of that. The players were disappointed after the game.
"It’s good that they were disappointed. They have got accustomed to winning games, they have got a taste for it and losing is not something they have sampled this season.
"But the unbeaten run had to come to an end sometime and we’ll use those feelings to make sure we are ready for Saturday. We’ve picked them up and they’ll be fine."
