Ricketts, who was speaking as he and his team prepare to take on last season's defeated National League Play-Off finalists Boreham Wood this weekend, insisted that Birmingham-born Smith will not be going anywhere.
Smith, a product of the Saddlers' youth system, rose through the ranks and turned professional with the club in 2006, going on to make over one-hundred and thirty appearances over the next six seasons. Manny, who enjoyed a brief loan spell with Halesowen Town during his time at the Banks's, turned down fresh terms and left the club in the summer of 2012.
Speaking via the North Wales-based website 'The Leader', Ricketts said; "Manny won't be going anywhere. I know nothing about it. Manny is a huge part of this club, this is his second spell here and he is a big part of this team now. From our point of view, I won't be selling Manny Smith. We are not a club looking to offload anyone. We are really happy with what we have got."
