Cook Can't Wait to Get the Season Underway

Walsall striker Andy Cook has spoken to the local press ahead of Saturday's season-opening League One clash with Plymouth Argyle and admitted that he is chomping at the bit to get the season underway.
The striker, who joined Walsall on a free transfer from National league Play-Off winners Tranmere Rovers, hopes the Saddlers can get the season off to a positive start as they welcome the Pilgrims to Banks's Stadium.

Andy, who was speaking via the Express & Star, said; "I cannot wait for the Plymouth game. I have waited 10 years for this. I want to go out, get the win and get a couple of goals as well. The most important thing is the team but there is a really good feeling around the place. The aim is to go into Saturday, start well and build from there. We’re going to give our all to win the three points. The last thing you want is to be playing catch up straight away. We’re going out to win and then the momentum can build from there."

Cook, who was the National League top-scorer last season went on to insist that he is not concerned about the jump up the football pyramid, and remains confident he'll be among the goals, he continued; "I’m not worried about not scoring goals. The goals don’t change size. I like to think I will still score goals. I’d like to continue what I’ve been doing over the last four years and get 20 plus. It would be nice to get similar but 15 plus, I’ll be happy. I’m making a jump up, it’s a couple of leagues, but I’m confident I can still do it."
