21-year-old, Coventry-born Ginnelly, is no stranger to the Saddlers as he spent the first half of the 2016/17 campaign on loan at Banks's Stadium, where he would go on to make fourteen first-team appearances.
Ginnelly, who becomes the club's second summer signing, following the arrival of his former Tranmere Rovers teammate Andy Cook, spent his youth career just down the M6 and up the M54 with Aston Villa and Shrewsbury Town respectively, where he made his EFL debut aged seventeen.
Josh would go on to turn professional with Burnley, as he penned a deal with Sean Dyche's side in the summer of 2015. He would soon enjoy a successful loan spell at Altrincham that season, where he would score five times in twenty appearances.
Following a six-month stint with Walsall, Ginnelly joined Jimmy Walker's Lincoln City on loan in January 2017 and featured thirteen times as City were crowned Vanarama National League champions.
Following another temporary spell with the Imps, he moved on loan to Tranmere Rovers in January 2018 and helped them win promotion back to the EFL via the National League Play-Offs.
