Graham Biggs' side haven't had the best of Alliance campaigns and arrived at this afternoon's match on the back of a narrow defeat to Tranmere Rovers, as the 'Super Whites' secured victory by one goal to nil last Friday afternoon.
The in-form Rochdale were enjoying a fine run of form heading into the match as they were looking to secure their tenth victory on the spin, their most recent coming against Morecambe last weekend.
The match, which was played at Stalybridge Celtic's Bower Fold Ground saw the young Dale side enter another strong performance as they restricted the Saddlers to very little in the way of goal-moth action, especially during the opening forty-five minutes.
Our host scored the opening goal of the game midway through the first-half as defender Joe Renner was on hand to nod Aaron Morley's cross back across goal and into the far corner.
Rochdale would go on to double their lead early in the second-half as Neil Kemgni-Kuemo slotted Morley's corner into the back of the net. The young Saddlers struggling to deal with the winger's dangerous cross as the forward pounced.
Walsall did create a few openings during the second-half but were ultimately unable to grab a goal as Rochdale's run was extended to ten games.
