Walsall right-back Nicky Devlin has spoken to club journalists following Tuesday evening's disappointing defeat to then bottom-of-the-table Rochdale and admitted that the game was probably one of the lowest points of the season.
Devlin, who was speaking via the club's official website - Saddlers.co.uk, said; "From the high of Southend, that was probably one of the lowest points of the season. They didn’t have a game on Saturday and probably came here a bit fresher but I still think we should have done more.
"It’s important not to get too carried away when you win or too down when you lose, especially as there’s a game coming up in a couple of days. We’ve got to recover now and be ready to go again on Saturday at Shrewsbury.
"We know it’s not going to be easy but it’s a chance to put it right. It’s a local derby, which will add something. We want to go there and pick up points, but we’ll have to be a lot better than we were against Rochdale to take something from that game."
