Walsall manager Jon Whitney has spoken ahead of this evening's League One clash with managerless Peterborough United, and called upon his side to replicate their second-half showing against league leaders Blackburn Rovers as they look to take an important step towards securing their future in the third tier.
Whitney, who is listed among a host of managers linked with the newly vacant managerial position at London Road, was speaking via the club's official website - Saddlers.co.uk, and said; "We want to try to win every game. We had really good energy in the second half against Blackburn and we broke from a really good shape – we never looked open. We will take that into tonight and we won’t go there just to park the bus because that’s not us as a team.
"We have to make it difficult for Peterborough. They’re a threat with three up top and they’ve got pace in the team – a lot of goals as well. We will go there to create problems for them and to see if we can get a bit more of a gap between ourselves and the bottom four.
"We will be ready for them and if we can take that belief and energy from the second half against Blackburn, then I believe we will be a match for any team."
