Walsall have taken 19-year-old former Queens Park Rangers defender Jeremy Arthur on trial, with the current Metropolitan Police youngster spending much of this week at the club's Essington Training Ground.
Arthur, who formerly captained the R's Under-23s, joined Met Police FC at the beginning of the current season and has gone on to establish himself in their first-team, entering several strong performances.
The defender, who played for the Saddlers' development team as they played out a goalless draw with Bradford City on Tuesday afternoon, is said to be on the radar of several other EFL sides following his solid performances in the Isthmian Premier League.
Arthur is believed to have returned to his parent club in time for their league clash with Tonbridge Angels on Saturday afternoon. It is not known whether the Saddlers plan on offering him a deal, but are believed to be keen to look at several players with a view to adding strength to their squad.
