George Dobson: Confidence is Key Heading into Posh Clash

George Dobson has spoken ahead of this evening's League One clash with Peterborough United and looked back to Saturday's defeat to league leaders Blackburn Rovers, insisting there are plenty of positives to take from the game.
Walsall midfielder George Dobson has spoken to the press ahead of this evening's League One clash with Peterborough United and looked back to last weekend's defeat to league leaders Blackburn Rovers, insisting there are plenty of positives to take from the game.

George, who was speaking via the Express & Star, said; "We have got real quality – we just need to believe. We didn’t play our own game in the first half against Blackburn. That was our problem. But second half we out performed the team top of the table. We showed the form that has seen us win our last three games at home. We proved, in that second half, we are a match for anyone when we play with the intensity and at the tempo we are capable of.

"When we attack teams and are on the front foot that is when we are at our best. We’ve got to go out and play our own game. But when we drop deep and let teams come on to us, that is when we struggle and concede goals."

Dobson, who recently returned to the club following a six-month spell at Sparta Rotterdam, then went on to take a closer look at this evening's clash, calling upon the Saddlers to take the momentum from their second-half display against Rovers to London Road, he continued; "We are going to take the positives from that second half performance against Blackburn into the first whistle. Peterborough are a good team with good attacking players but we have got good attacking players as well. We just need to be confident.

"Before the Blackburn game, we had gone four matches unbeaten and taken eight points from 12. Now we have two tough away games but they are two games we are looking forward to. We are going to both Peterborough and Southend to win."
