Walsall's Sky Bet League One rivals Doncaster Rovers have today confirmed the loan signing of Preston North End defender Andy Boyle, who joins the club until the end of the 2017/18 campaign.
The 26-year-old, who had been linked with a move to the Saddlers, joins up with the club as they prepare for their next League One game, which sees them take on Portsmouth on Saturday afternoon.
Walsall were initially thought to be favourites to land Boyle as the Republic of Ireland international sought to go out on loan in order to secure some much needed football.
Andy, who lists UCD, Shelbourne and Dundalk among his former clubs, was said to be one of several players Walsall boss Jon Whitney hoped to sign as he seeks to add numbers to his somewhat small squad.
