According to Daily Mail journalist Laurie Whitwell, West Brom's former Walsall loanee Tyler Roberts is set to join Sky Bet Championship side Leeds United, as the Elland Road outfit appear to have leapfrogged several clubs to get their man.
19-year-old Roberts, who made eighteen first-team appearances during a six-month loan spell with the Saddlers, has less than six-months remaining on his contract with the West Bromwich Albion and was understood to be attracting interest from several high-profile clubs including Rangers and Marseille.
Whitwell reports that Leeds are in advanced discussions with the Baggies as they seek to sign Roberts for a fee of around £2.5m, rising to £4m via several contract clauses.
As Tyler is soon-to-be out of contract, the Baggies would receive a nominal fee of around £300,000 in the summer of the Wales Under-21 international was simply to run down his deal and depart for pastures new in June.
