According to the latest media reports, Walsall's on-loan Sheffield United defender James Wilson, who has made twenty first-team appearances since arriving at the club during the summer, is closing in on a permanent switch to League Two side Lincoln City, as the Imps look to add strength to their backline.
28-year-old Wilson, who is understood to be keen to seal a permanent move away from Bramall Lane, is out of contract in the summer and recently admitted that he would be open to making his season-long loan to the club a permanent one as he enjoys plenty of first-team minutes for manager Jon Whitney.
Neither Lincoln nor Sheffield United have commented on the speculation but it is understood that Wilson will be recalled from his loan in order to join the Imps.
