West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew has spoken to the press ahead of this afternoon's Premier League clash between the Baggies and Everton and discussed the possibility of Walsall loanee Tyler Roberts earning a spot in the Hawthorns club's starting XI.
19-year-old Roberts, who is out-of-contract in the summer, has been linked with a move to clubs such as Leeds United, Marseille and Rangers. The Gloucester-born striker has scored five goals in eighteen Saddlers appearances and is due to make his final club appearance as Walsall face Charlton Athletic this afternoon.
Baggies boss Pardew, who was speaking via BBC WM, said; "He plays his last game on Saturday against Charlton which I have got covered by someone I trust and know very well. We’ve had him in training this week, I like the look of him. I think there’s potential there for us this season, let alone going forward. We’ll play the game at Charlton and then we’ll make a decision on him."
Walsall boss Jon Whitney has expressed his desire to retain Tyler's services but as several high-profile clubs come calling it seems increasingly likely that the Welsh Under-21 international will depart for pastures new.
