Walsall manager Jon Whitney is confident that his team can bounce back from Saturday's disappointing defeat to Gillingham as they welcome Fleetwood Town to Banks's Stadium later this evening.
The 46-year-old, who is under increasing pressure with his side sitting just one point above the relegation zone after a string of poor performances and even poorer results, insisted that the players have plenty to be confident about.
Jon, who was speaking via the club's official website Saddlers.co.uk, said; "I think it’s easier to bounce back after a performance like we had against Gillingham. The important thing is to keep that belief. I need those players even more buoyant than ever. If they do that we have a real chance to push on against Fleetwood. They’ve got to take belief from some of the passages of play against Gillingham – we just needed to convert our chances."
