Walsall manager Jon Whitney has spoken to the local press and discussed the recent speculation surrounding a potential change to the Summer Transfer Window, which could see it close before the start of next season.
Whitney, who was speaking via the Express & Star, revealed that he supports the idea, and would welcome the change, he said; "A lot has been said about the transfer window and how it might change. I'd like to see that change made across the board. Once the season starts, you’ve got your squad in place, you’ve done your recruitment, that’s your squad moving forward.
"If I lose two or three of my big hitters now, it’s difficult because most other targets are gone. I think it should go right through and be a blanket decision, and it be quite clear that once the season’s started, that’s it – that’s your squad to work with. That way, players don’t get upset, their heads don’t get turned."
