Walsall's Hopes Are Dashed as George Dobson Joins Sparta Rotterdam

West Ham United have confirmed that former Saddlers loanee George Dobson, who had been linked with another switch to Banks's Stadium, has joined Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam, for an undisclosed fee.
West Ham United have this afternoon confirmed that former Walsall loanee George Dobson has joined Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam, for an undisclosed fee.

19-year-old Dobson, who made twenty-six appearances during a season-long spell with the Saddlers, was believed to be among Walsall manager Jon Whitney's transfer targets as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

George, who has penned a two-year deal with De Kasteelheren, joined West Ham from Arsenal in July 2015 and quickly became an integral part of Terry Westley's U21 squad. He played a key role as the team won the Premier League Cup in May 2016 and was set for a big campaign in the Hammers' development side.
