Walsall starlet Liam Kinsella, who has played at a variety of positions since turning professional in 2014, has spoken to Walsall reporter Joseph Masi and revealed that he has decided to concentrate his efforts on securing a first-team role in the right-back position.
Liam, who was speaking via the Express & Star following the Saddlers' three-day trip to Cassius Camps, has featured in central midfield, wing-back and in a number 10 role for the Saddlers over the last year and, following discussions with manager Jon Whitney has decided to seek a starting role in defence.
Colchester-born Kinsella said; "I’ll be 22-years-old at the end of the season so it is make or break. I’m going to nail down a position. I spoke with the gaffer and we agreed we would nail down right-back.
"It saves me having to keep moving about. It’s been good to get experience in different positions. It’s allowed me to learn different things. But I feel like right-back is one of my strongest positions. I am going to try and nail down that position.
"I have got good competition because Nicky Devlin has come in there. I’ve been watching him over the past two weeks and he is a very good player. But I’m looking forward to it. The challenge for me this season has to be to play as many first team games as I can."
