Following the news that goalkeeper Liam Roberts had put pen-to-paper on a new one-year contract, Walsall manager Jon Whitney has spoken to club journalists and welcomed the deal.
Jon, who was speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, said; "Liam is a promising young goalkeeper who very much enjoys working under Neil Cutler. We’re delighted that relationship will continue, and we’re looking for Liam to make a step up now.
"He has done well in spells elsewhere and didn’t let himself down in his senior bow under difficult circumstances. He knows where he has to improve and we’ll continue to work with him on his game in training."
