Walsall manager Jon Whitney has briefly spoken to the local press and revealed that he has invited 'a couple' of non-league players to join his squad for their upcoming training session as he and his team continue to 'tick over' during the summer break.
The squad will return for pre-season training on Tuesday, 27th June, but several of the senior players will be joining the club’s youngsters at the Essington training ground before then as they look to hit the ground running at the start of the season.
Jon, who was speaking via the Express & Star, said; "I am speaking to a couple to see if they can come in for a few days. There is a possibility there might be a couple of non-league trialists."
