Following the news that club Captain Adam Chambers had penned a new two-year deal, Walsall manager Jon Whitney has spoken to club journalists and welcomed the 36-year-old's new contract, praising the midfielder's attitude and fitness as he enters his seventh season at the club.
Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Jon said; "We’re pleased to extend Adam’s contract for another two seasons. He has been a mainstay of our midfield for several years and his attitude, work ethic and fitness are an example to all of the other lads in the squad.
"It’s important to have Adam around as a role model for the youngsters. He’s an important part of the philosophy at the club. He’s disciplined, organised and resilient, and I’m sure he’ll push on over the course of the new season. He comes back to training fit and ready to go."
