Whitney Plays Down Link With Coventry City Defender

22-year-old Trowbridge born Turnbull, who is set to leave the Ricoh Arena as his current deal is said to include a relegation release clause, was linked with the Saddlers as they look to add numbers to their squad.
Saddlers manager Jon Whitney, who earlier revealed that he hopes to complete two new signings by the end of the week, has insisted that one of the new recruits will not be Coventry City defender Jordan Turnbull, playing down the recent rumours linking the 22-year-old with a summer switch.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Jon admitted that the ex-Southampton youth player has been a target in the past, but is not on his radar this summer, he said; "He is somebody I have looked at in the past but he is not a target this year.

"I was looking at him in January but Coventry paid money for him to sign him from Southampton and gave him a really good contract. I do like him. But he isn’t one of my primary targets."
