Saddlers manager Jon Whitney has once again spoken to members of the local press and offered a brief update on the status of contract negotiations between the club and a trio of players, revealing that he expects two to sign whilst negotiations will continue with the third.
46-year-old Whitney confirmed that he expects goalkeeper Liam Roberts and club captain Adam Chambers to agree terms over the coming days, while he will continue to negotiate with defender Matt Preston, who is seeking more first-team football after making over thirty-five appearances last season.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Jon said; "I am hoping for something on Adam and Liam in the next couple of days. Adam has been away on holiday but I’m hopeful we can get Adam and Liam over the line very soon. Talks with Matt Preston are still ongoing."
