Walsall manager Jon Whitney, who recently returned from a short holiday, has spoken to club journalists and discussed his recent transfer dealings, insisting that he is confident that he will sign some new players once they return from holidays, revealing that he, and the club, are in discussion with several potential new arrivals.
Jon, who was speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, said; "We’re in talks with several players but we’re still at a very early stage of the summer. Players have gone away on holiday and most are still under contract at this stage.
"It’s still very early in June and there is still around a month before the players report back for pre-season training. But we have identified targets, players we would like to bring in to the club, ahead of the new season.
"We will remain patient but we do hope to have news for supporters soon. I’m confident of securing a couple of new additions, at least, before we report back fully. I’ve been pleased with the work the lads have put in during their maintenance days and I’m looking forward to working with the group as a whole."
