Walsall Football Club have confirmed the signing of former Carlisle United goalkeeper Mark Gillespie, who has put pen-to-paper on a two-year contract.
25-year-old, Newcastle born Gillespie is a product of both the Newcastle United and Carlisle United youth systems and turned professional with the Blues in 2010.
Mark made over 150 first-team appearances, including over fifty just last season, during his time with the Cumbrians and also enjoyed a successful three-month loan spell with Blyth Spartans during the 2010/11 campaign.
Gillespie, who turned down Carlisle's offer of a new deal around a week ago, is expected to be the Saddlers' first-choice goalkeeper heading into the 2017/18 campaign.
