Walsall Football Club have completed another summer signing as 23-year-old Ayr United defender Nicky Devlin joins on a two-year-deal, subject to international clearance.
Devlin, who is primarily a right-back, is believed to have rejected several offers from Scottish Premiership sides as he opted to join the Saddlers ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
Nicky began his career with Dumbarton and broke into the first-team in 2010. After making twenty-four first-team appearances for Dumbarton Devlin signed a pre-contract agreement with Motherwell in March 2011 and officially joined the club at the beginning of July.
Nicky failed to make a single appearance for Motherwell during his two seasons with the team but did enjoy loan spells with Stenhousemuir and former club Dumbarton.
After being released by Motherwell in the summer of 2012 Nicky quickly signed a permanent deal with Stenhousemuir where he would go on to make thirty-five first-team appearances before joining Ayr United in July 2014.
Before agreeing terms with the Saddlers Nicky had made one-hundred and twenty five first-team appearances for 'The Honest Men' and will give Walsall plenty of strength for the upcoming season.
We would like to welcome Nicky to the club.
