Walsall Football Club are believed to be close to sealing the signature of former Carlisle United goalkeeper Mark Gillespie, who is expected to put pen-to-paper on a two-year contract.
25-year-old, Newcastle born Gillespie is a product of both the Newcastle United and Carlisle United youth systems and turned professional in 2010.
Mark made over 150 first-team appearances during his time with the Cumbrians and also enjoyed a successful three-month loan spell with Blyth Spartans during the 2010/11 campaign.
Gillespie turned down Carlisle's offer of a new deal around a week ago.
