Walsall Football Club have this afternoon released a statement, confirming that club-record signing Andreas Makris, who joined the Saddlers from Anorthosis Famagusta last summer, has agreed terms on a three-year contract with Cypriot champions APOEL, and is set to complete a transfer over the coming days.
The statement, issued via Saddlers.co.uk, confirms; Walsall Football Club can confirm that Andreas Makris has agreed to join Cypriot First Division champions Apoel Nicosia for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance and the signing of all relevant paperwork, which at this stage is yet to be completed.
"The move has not quite worked out but everyone could see how hard Andreas worked for the side and we wish him all the best in the future. He has been a pleasure to work with and hope that a return to his homeland will reinvigorate his club and international career."

The statement continued; The Cypriot International arrived at the Banks’s Stadium last summer and went on to make 40 appearances during the 2016/17 campaign having arrived from Anorthosis Famagusta.
The club will be making no further comment at this stage.
