Former Walsall loanee Scott Laird, who left Scunthorpe United by mutual consent on Monday afternoon, has today put pen-to-paper on a two year contract with newly promoted Sky Bet League Two side, Forest Green Rovers.
29-year-old Laird will no doubt be glad to put his time at Scunthorpe behind him as he made just thirty-nine first-team appearances after joining the club from Preston North End in June 2015.
Forest Green Rovers have landed their fifth summer signing with the arrival of defender Scott Laird on a two-year contract.
Laird enjoyed a far more successful spell with the Saddlers just last season as he would go on to make thirty first-team appearances during a season-long stay.
Despite our disappointment that he will not be pulling on a Saddlers shirt any time soon, we would like to wish Scott all the best as he begins a new chapter in his career.
