According to media reports, Celtic's former Walsall loanee Eoghan O'Connell is close to agreeing terms on a free transfer from current parent club Celtic to the Saddlers' Sky Bet League One rivals Bury.
21-year-old, Cork born O'Connell, who is believed to be out-of-contract this summer, has decided to depart Parkhead in search of first-team football after tasting regular action during his spell at Banks's Stadium.
Eoghan, who has made appearances for the Republic of Ireland's Under 19s and Under 21s sides, made seventeen first-team appearances, scoring one goal, during a loan spell with the Saddlers last season and bought plenty of strength to the backline.
Walsall manager Jon Whitney has made no secret of his desire to re-sign O'Connell and will no doubt be disappointed should the ambitious Shakers get their man.
